The C.A. Lawton Co. (Calco), an industry-leading supplier of large castings, will be hosting its 3rd annual Ron Steele Memorial Golf Outing on Friday, June 17, 2016. The event includes a four-person 18-hole scramble, four-person 9-hole scramble, buffet lunch, Bloody Mary bar, hole prizes and raffles. The golf outing will take place at Hilly Haven Golf Course, with all proceeds benefiting The American Cancer Society. Calco’s 2015 golf outing generated more than $5,000 to support The American Cancer Society.
The event honors Ron Steele who served many roles at the Calco foundry, including Director of Operations, Quality Manager and Plant Metallurgist. Ron was considered one of the world’s experts in cast iron products and casting processes and was known for his quick wit and his love for the game of golf. He viewed Hilly Haven as his second home. Ron will always be a part of the Calco operation and remembered as an outstanding employee and close friend.
“Ron Steele is a Calco legend and foundry industry stalwart,” said Alex Lawton, Chief Executive Officer of Calco. “To have a day where the various stakeholders of Calco can come together and have fun while honoring Ron and supporting a great cause is a great feeling. Occasionally it’s who we are and not what we do or have accomplished that needs to be celebrated. I look forward to a great event and appreciate any support and involvement.”
